Damien Hirst - The Cure (2014) - The miracle of modern science

The portfolio of seven prints is by the famous British artist Damien Hirst. He is known and celebrated for his unique style, his rebellious character and his new way of questioning the world through his artwork. The Cure series was published in 2014 in a limited edition of just 15 copies and shows the exceptional artist's fascination with the pharmaceutical industry. For the Cure series, Hirst produced thirty screen prints on Somerset Tub, all of which depict a large, two-tone pill. Each screen print from this series differs in its color combination and is therefore unique and very special.

Throughout the series, Hirst uses bold and bright colors reminiscent of the Pop Art style popularized by Andy Warhol in the 1960s.

About Damien Hirst

Damien Hirst, born in Bristol in 1965, is an outstanding British artist known for his provocative and controversial work. His diverse work spans various media, including sculpture, painting, installation and printmaking. Hirst became known for his unconventional approaches and thematization of life, death, religion and consumer culture. One of his most famous and controversial series is "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living" (1991), which shows a shark in formaldehyde and symbolizes the transience of life. His monumental sculptures, including "Hymn" (1999), an oversized replica of an anatomical model of the human body, and "For the Love of God" (2007), a diamond-encrusted skull, have also attracted worldwide attention. Hirst's works are often inspired by pop culture and everyday life, challenging the viewer to reflect on existential questions and societal norms. Despite praise and criticism, Hirst remains an influential figure in the contemporary art scene, and his works are exhibited in prestigious galleries and museums around the world.
