"Alya" by José María Yturralde: A play with color, space and cosmic appeal
With "Alya," José María Yturralde creates a work that appears both earthly and cosmic. A luminous core unfolds outward in gentle yet powerful color gradients, creating the impression of a spherical expansion into infinity. The image appears like an energetic center that opens up and draws the viewer into a sphere of light, space, and stillness.
"Alya" was created during a creative phase in which Yturralde focused his visual research on the essential: the experience of space, illusion, and transcendent perception. The composition evokes stars, galaxies, or cosmic nebulae, but also meditative inner worlds in which color becomes a state of pure presence.
The title "Alya" refers to the star of the same name in the Serpens constellation, giving the work a direct connection to the universe. Yturralde thus connects the visible with the invisible and invites the viewer to reflect on their own position in the infinite web of time and space.
Using minimalist means, Yturralde succeeds in creating an overwhelming intensity. "Alya" is less a painting in the classical sense than an experience—a silent encounter with the infinite that resonates with the viewer for a long time.
